Croatian "Fraktura" wins LBF award as best international publisher

ZAGREB, April 15 (Hina) - The Croatian publisher Fraktura, which has a tradition of publishing quality works of fiction and non-fiction, has won the Bookseller International Adult Trade Publisher Award at the ongoing London Book Fair.

Judges declared Fraktura winners for "their unique combination of quality publishing, innovation and digital marketing". The award caps off a year of global success in which the leading literary publisher has brought writers from more than 40 countries to Croatian readers.

The winners of the Bookseller International Adult Trade Publisher Award and other awards was announced on Tuesday.

Fraktura editor-in-chief Seid Serdarevic told Hina on Tuesday evening that this was an important recognition of the work being done by the company. This is also a great encouragement for further work, he added.

Serdarevic thanked the jury members as well as authors and translators who helped the development of Fraktura into a recognisable publishing company with a high quality performance.

Earlier on Tuesday, Croatian writer Luka Bekavac was declared as one of 12 winners of this year's European Union Prize for Literature (EUPL) also at the London Fair, and this 39-year writer won the award for his novel "Viljevo" published by Fraktura.

The London Book Fair (LBF) is the global marketplace for rights negotiation and the sale and distribution of content across print, audio, TV, film and digital channels. LBF 2015, the 44th Fair, is taking place from Tuesday 14-Thursday 16 April 2015, Olympia London.
