Paintings by Italian Baroque masters to be shown in Klovicevi Dvori gallery

ZAGREB, April 13 (Hina) - Around 80 historically and artistically most valuable works of Italian master Baroque painters that are kept in Croatia will be put on display at the exhibition "The Sacred and the Profane - Italian Baroque Painting", to open at the Klovicevi Dvori art gallery in Zagreb on April 16.

The exhibition, featuring works by Italian artists from the mid-16th century to the early 19th century, was presented by its author, Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences member Radoslav Tomic.

Speaking at a news conference at the Klovicevi Dvori gallery on Monday, Tomic said that the exhibition would feature works from all over Croatia - from churches, monasteries, museums and private collections, as well as paintings from Bosnia and Montenegro.

In terms of its themes and chronologically, the exhibition follows on the exhibition "Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese - Great Renaissance Masters", held in 2011.

"The Sacred and the Profane - Italian Baroque Painting" exhibition will be open until August 2.
