Property prices in Croatia seem to be stagnating

ZAGREB, April 2 (Hina) - The asking price for real estate in Croatia in March dropped by 0.2% compared to February and by 0.1% compared to March 2014, the CentarNekretnina real estate agency has reported, pointing out that the the average highest price per square metre of a flat in Zagreb was EUR 2,139, while the most expensive properties for holidays were in Dubrovnik County, reaching a price of EUR 2,598 per square metre.

In the Croatian capital of Zagreb, the average asking price was EUR 1,582 per square metre in March, thus remaining the same as in February and increasing 1.1% compared to March 2014.

The most expensive flats are still in Zagreb's Medvescak residential area, EUR 2139 per square metre, and the cheapest flats are in the eastern suburb of Sesvete, EUR 1,129 per sqm.

The State Bureau of Statistics (DZS) has recently reported that 2,410 new flats were sold in 2014 in Croatia and almost every second flat was in Zagreb (47%) or 1,128.
