Economic sentiment in EU, Croatia improves again in March

BRUSSELS/ZAGREB, March 30 (Hina) - Croatia's economic sentiment improved again in March, for the fifth consecutive month, and the European Union recorded an improvement too, a European Commission survey showed on Monday.

The economic sentiment indicator (ESI) in Croatia rose from 115.5 points in February to 116.7 in March. Retail trade confidence rose 6.2 points to 5.1, consumer confidence rose 3.4 points to -23.5, and industry confidence rose 2.7 points to 1.8.

On the other hand, services confidence slid 4 points to 5.9, and construction confidence fell 1.5 points to -30.3.

In the EU, the ESI rose 0.9 points to 106.1, improving for the fourth straight month. Retail trade confidence rose 2.7 points to 2.2, consumer confidence rose 2.6 points to -1.8, industry confidence rose 0.3 points and services confidence rose 0.1 points.

The ESI fell only in construction, by 1.4 points.
