ZAGREB, Feb 5
(Hina) - Opposition MPs in parliament on Thursday
welcomed statements by Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic that Croatia
would not allow Serbia to join the European Union until it withdrew a
law pursuant to which Croatian citizen Veljko Maric was arrested and
is serving time in a Serbian jail, but added that the statements were
in contradiction to the government's rejection of a proposal that
Croatia should demand the withdrawal of that law as one of the
criteria for Serbia's accession to the EU.
