After Croatia's accession to the European Union last year and the free trade zone between EU countries, Podravka decided to locate its production for the EU market in one place, Koprivnica.
Production stoppage in Poland began on December 15 and is expected to be completed by March 31.
Podravka Polska will pay severance packages for about 45 workers.
The negative impact of the decision will amount to HRK 20.6 million (EUR 2.7m) this year, but it will have a positive impact on Podravka's operations in 2015 because of lower costs, the statement said, adding that the decision to close down the plant in Poland would not have a negative impact on sales there.
