Number of Croat citizens with frozen accounts grows to nearly 320,000

ZAGREB, Dec 1 (Hina) - The number of Croatians with frozen accounts due to overdue liabilities rose in October on the month and on the year by 0.4% and by 10.1% respectively to 319,890, while the number of businesses with frozen accounts due to unpaid debts went down both on the month and on the year by 1.5% and 12.1% respectively to 52,619, the Finance Agency (Fina) stated on Monday.

The overdue liabilities of citizens rose by 1.9%% or by 550 million kuna from September to reach 29.54 billion kuna in October, and this debt jumped by 30.6% or by 6.93 billion kuna compared to October 2013.

The overdue liabilities of debt-ridden businesses decreased by 1.3% or by 408 million to HRK 29.9 billion in October compared to September, and by 12.4%, or by 4.2 billion from October 2013.
