The fair, taking place on an exhibition area of 20,000 square metres, runs through 19 October.
Opening the event, Agriculture Minister Tihomir Jakovina expressed satisfaction with positive results in the timber and wood-processing sector.
Croatia's exports of timber, products made from wood and furniture jumped 28.6% in the first half of 2014 compared to H1 2013.
The wood-processing sector's share in Croatia's exchange of goods and services with other countries has been rising for five years in a row.
Jakovina said that "impressive figures" proved that the government had been right to decide to treat the timber and wood-processing sector as a strategic branch in the national industrial strategy.
