(Hina) - Ivan Jakovcic, a former Istrian county prefect
and the honorary president of the Istrian Democratic Party (IDS), on
Friday hit back at claims from businessman Georg List about the IDS
and Jakovcic's attempts to extort kickbacks from him in return for
greenlighting his polo project in the Istrian town of Motovun, and
Jakovcic today accused List of "a political, land and financial scam"
which was why the former office-holder called on the competent
authorities to protect the interests of the Republic of Croatia.
