ZAGREB, Jan 1
(Hina) - On 1 January, Greece took over the six-month
presidency of the 28-strong European Union, succeeding Lithuania on
this position, while Latvia entered the eurozone as the 18th member in
the euro area, an economic and monetary union (EMU) of EU member
states that have adopted the euro as their common currency.
