Such diverting of attention from the problems Croatia is faced with can last only a while longer because people are on to them, Reiner told the press.
He said it was sad that just before Christmas, Milanovic was attacking Karamarko on a personal level to cover up the failure of his government, "not having even one word of encouragement and hope which citizens so eagerly expect."
Milanovic said Karamarko was "inconsistent and lost" and that the opposition HDZ was not an alternative for Croatia.
Reiner said it was plain to everyone that the incumbent government would lose the next parliamentary election because it was unsuccessful.
"They don't realise and don't want to realise how hard the people live because they have no answers to how to exit the difficult economic situation. They have no vision and their incompetence is pushing Croatia down."
Asked to comment on Milanovic's call on SDP members not to fall for the hypocrisy, untruths and obstructions from the political rivals from the HDZ, Reiner said "those in power, incapable of solving the real problems of Croatian society, are capable of destroying thousands and thousands of business owners and family-run farms. Therefore, they diverted attention a number of times to certain world view issues to avoid the fact that they are unsuccessful in running the state's economy."
