EU annual inflation 1%, Croatia's inflation 0.7%

ZAGREB, Dec 17 (Hina) - The annual inflation rate in the euro area consisting of 17 European Union (EU) member states that have adopted the euro as their common currency and sole legal tender, was 0.9% in November, while the 28-strong European Union had a 1-percent inflation rate, with Croatia having 0.7%, according to preliminary figures released by Eurostat on Tuesday.

Inflation in the euro area (EU17) was 0.7% in October, while EU28 registered an inflation rate of 0.9% in that month, according to the European Union's statistical office.

The rise in Croatia's consumer prices mildly decelerated, from 0.8% in October to 0.7% in November.

On the month, the EU28 saw a 0.1% drop in consumer prices.

"Monthly inflation was -0.1% in November 2013," Eurostat reported.

In November, Croatia's consumer prices fell 0.4%.
