ZAGREB, Nov 20
(Hina) - Lawyer Zvonimir Hodak said on Wednesday that
the Initiative for the Defence of Croatian Vukovar on Tuesday was
notified in writing by Istria County that they were not allowed to
collect signatures in that northern Adriatic county for a referendum
on the rights of national minorities to use their language and script,
but Deputy Istria County Prefect Miodrag Cerina refuted that
immediately saying that Istria, as a local government unit, does not
even have authority to do that.
