Several hundred people were in that procession, which met at a town crossroads with another procession which had started towards the cemetery earlier, led by the Initiative for the Defence of a Croatian Vukovar and comprising a majority of those participating in today's commemoration of Vukovar Remembrance Day.
Since the procession with state officials was prevented from passing through, Josipovic, Leko and Milanovic decided not to continue.
Reporters were told they would go to the Ovcara mass grave site to lay wreaths and light candles.
The procession led by the Initiative for the Defence of a Croatian Vukovar proceeded on to the Memorial Cemetery.
