BRUSSELS, Oct 28
(Hina) - A Croatian member of the European
Parliament, Tonino Picula of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), asked
the European Commission in writing on Monday what steps it intended to
take to financially assist fishermen in adjusting to new provisions
aimed at establishing a more balanced relationship between fishing
fleets and available fishing resources while at the same time securing
jobs in coastal communities.
