Meeting of Croatian government, MOL negotiators on INA postponed

ZAGREB, Oct 24 (Hina) - A meeting between negotiating teams of the Croatian government and the Hungarian oil and gas company MOL on amendments to the shareholders' agreement on Croatia's INA, scheduled for Friday, has been postponed after consultations in the government, a government source told Hina on Wednesday.

The government decided to postpone the meeting after MOL did not agree to the proposed topic on the management model in the Croatian oil and gas company, Hina learned unofficially.

This was contrary to the conclusions of the negotiating teams' first meeting in Zagreb on September 18, when they agreed that one of the topics of the negotiations would be the future of corporate management in INA.

The government source would not say if MOL's refusal to discuss the management model in INA was a form of pressure on Croatia after an Interpol Red Notice and a European Arrest Warrant were issued at Croatia's request for MOL CEO Zsolt Hernadi on suspicion that he bribed former Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader into giving MOL management rights in INA.

MOL has a 49.1 per cent and the the Croatian government 44.84% in INA.
