DUBROVNIK, Oct 1
(Hina) - The then Yugoslav People's Army (JNA)
consisting of the Serbian and the Montenegrin forces launched
aggression against the area of Dubrovnik in the early morning of 1
October 1991, and this southernmost Croatian city was exposed to
attacks from air, land and sea during the seven-month siege. Dubrovnik
authorities and war veterans' associations on Tuesday organised
several commemorative events, including wreath-laying ceremonies and
religious services for the dead, to mark the 22nd anniversary of the
start of the siege.
