Standard & Poor's affirms Bosnia's rating with stable outlook

SARAJEVO, Sept 27 (Hina) - Standard & Poor's Rating Services has affirmed Bosnia and Herzegovina's credit rating at 'B/B' with a stable outlook, Bosnia's central bank said on Friday.

According to the agency, the September 2012 stand-by arrangement with the International Monetary Fund ensured Bosnia's stability despite the negative circumstances in the country and it remains to be seen if Bosnia will be able to stabilise public finances and increase the capability of servicing the foreign debt.

The budget deficit is estimated at about one per cent, while the debt of the government sector is expected to reach a maximum 39 per cent of GDP, which should be reduced to 36 per cent by 2016.

The rating can be downgraded if the authorities cannot implement the obligations from the stand-by arrangement, Standard & Poor's said.
