Share of non-performing loans exceeds 15 pct

ZAGREB, Aug 19 (Hina) - The share of non-performing loans continues to rise and exceeded 15 per cent at the end of June to reach HRK 43.3 billion, the Croatian National Bank said on Monday.

The amount of non-performing loans grew a little over HRK 3.7 billion from the end of 2012, their share going up from 13.93% to 15.11%.

In retail banking, non-performing loans accounted for 10.33%, while in corporate lending, bad loans accounted for 26.89%.

Bad loans among companies stood at HRK 29.7 billion at the end of June, while those in retail banking amounted to HRK 12.8 billion.

Most loans at the end of June were pegged to the euro (HRK 182.4 billion), of which HRK 25.7 billion were non-performing loans, a share of 14.1%.

Bad loans pegged to the Swiss franc totalled HRK 3.8 billion, a share of 14.92%. Companies accounted for 54.19% of these loans.
