Croatian, Slovenian MEPs meet

DUBROVNIK, Aug 6 (Hina) - Croatian member of the European Parliament Oleg Valjalo and Slovenian MEP Ivo Vajgl met on the southern Croatian tip of Prevlaka on Tuesday and talked about cooperation in regional projects.

Speaking to the press, Vajgl said Europe would turn towards the regional context and regional cooperation in the future. "We must maintain our joint cooperation because that will be the future of Europe's development, on the economic, cultural and other fronts," he said, voicing confidence that Europe would develop as a Europe of regions.

Next spring, Valjalo and Vajgl plan to organise a conference in the European Parliament at which the southern Adriatic resort of Dubrovnik will be presented as a cultural and tourism seat.

They chose to meet at Prevlaka because that is the furthest point of the European Union in this part of Europe.

Valjalo said that Prevlaka, which is now the border, should become a valuable and attractive tourist area.
