BELGRADE, July 2 (Hina) - Croatia's European Union accession is supported by 72.4 per cent of Serbian citizens, with the highest support in the northern province of Vojvodina and the lowest in Belgrade, according to a public opinion poll, Tanjug reported on Monday.

Also, 51.4% said Croatia's membership would step up Serbia's EU accession, mainly people under 44, while 48.6% believe it will slow the process down.

Asked which ex-Yugoslav country would join the EU next, 47.3% said Montenegro and 36.7% said Serbia.

The survey was conducted by the Ninamedia agency and the Prva TV station on a sample of 1,200 respondents on June 26-28.
