SPLIT, June 3
(Hina) - Following a request from the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) branch in Split, the city's election commission
has begun a review of election records and of about 1,800 invalid
ballots after Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate Ivo Baldasar
defeated his HDZ rival Vjekoslav Ivanisevic with a slim majority of
615 votes in a mayoral runoff election on Sunday, commission chairman
Ivan Botica told Hina on Monday.
