Bosniak war victims rep. says Stanisic-Simatovic acquittal disappointing

SARAJEVO, May 30 (Hina) - An association of Bosniak victims of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina said on Thursday it was dissatisfied with the acquittal of the former chief of the Serbian State Security Service (SDB), Jovica Stanisic, and the former commander of the SDB special operations unit, Franko Simatovic, accused of war crimes in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina committed by Serb paramilitary units.

They were acquitted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia today.

The president of the Mothers of the Srebrenica and Zepa Enclaves Movement, Munira Subasic, told local media she was "disappointed" and "shocked" by the acquittal.

She said there were no grounds to acquit because the role of paramilitary units, who came to Bosnia from Serbia during the war, was clear.
