In April, the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index, were 0.4% higher on the month and 3.3% on the year on average.
In March, inflation was 3.7%. April's inflation was the lowest since April 2012, when it was 2.6%.
Four macroeconomists polled by Hina predicted that consumer prices in April would grow 3.3% on the year on average. Their predictions ranged from 2.9 to 4%.
In the second half of 2012, inflation was above 4% because of a VAT raise in March and the subsequent increase in electricity and gas prices, reaching this past January its highest level of 5.2% since 2008.
