"Don't stay at home. The worst thing is when people are apathetic. Go to the polls, vote, even if it is against," he said at a rally of a coalition comprising the SDP, the Croatian Pensioners' Party and the Green List.
Speaking of the 18 months in office of his cabinet, Milanovic said the first thing his team did was to make the non-payment of salaries a crime.
"We never made false promises. We promised hard work, the method of trial and sometimes error so that we could all live better. Our goal is a stable society in which those playing by the rules can expect success. The nations which have succeeded in that are successful in everything."
Milanovic said the SDP had always led Croatia in difficult times. "Another party led it too and it's up to the people to choose. The choice is clear, we are different. We both love Croatia, but we are different."
