This is the fourth list to be released by the ministry and it includes all tax debtors whose debts exceed 90 days - legal entities which owe more than HRK 300,000, small businesses which owe more than HRK 100,000 and citizens who owe more than HRK 15,000 each.
The latest list indicates that there are 5,348 companies in this category with a total debt of just over HRK 9 billion.
A total debt of HRK 3.9 billion is due in taxes to the state by 10,998 SMEs, while the longest list of tax debtors can be attributed to 77,541 citizens owing a total of HRK 9.97 billion.
The first list of tax debtors was released by the ministry in July last year, showing that 102,000 debtors owed a total of HRK 29.97 billion.
When the first list was released, 2,081 debtors settled their debts, paying HRK 152.4 million in total, while 1,610 debtors paid HRK 107.9 million in total after the second list was released at the end of October.
The ministry issued a notice on its web site reporting the results of tax collections last year and measures taken to help debtors settle their debts, adding that repression or distress orders were only issued where this was unavoidable.
The ministry said that it had introduced pre-bankruptcy settlement procedures to facilitate bad businesses to overcome their financial problems.
The ministry reported that it had received pre-bankruptcy settlement applications from 440 debtors owing more than HRK 10 million individually which represented a total debt to the state of HRK 33.4 billion.
Of that, 178 cases have been resolved, 43 positively, 45 were rejected with companies going bankrupt, while three cases were withdrawn.
With debtors owing less than HRK 10 million individually, 3,511 applications were received with the total debt amounting to HRK 3.2 billion.
Of these, 2,563 were resolved, 612 positively and 1,951 were rejected.
