The victims were Croatian and German soldiers who surrendered to the Partisans in the Istria and Trieste areas in the northern Adriatic, after which they were executed, according to the Hrvatski Domobran association.
The exhumation began on February 17.
More victims could be unearthed by February 28, when the exhumation is to be completed, said Hrvatski Domboran president Zeljko Kulisic.
The remains will be buried in Dubrovnik.
