(Hina) - Despite certain progress in the Croatian
hotel industry over the past ten years and the growing number of four
and five star hotels and number of overnight stays, the industry is
still lagging behind southern Europe and the Mediterranean due to lack
of investments, branding and public-private cooperation in
destinations and in particular due to the pronounced seasonal nature
of Croatia's tourism which is the reason why global hotel chains and
investors in general are hesitant to enter the market.
