ZAGREB, Aug 4 (Hina) - The recent tropical heat wave in Croatia, with temperatures reaching up to 38 degrees centigrade, will abate on Sunday, when the highest daily temperature will be between 27 and 32 degrees, the state weather
bureau said on Saturday.

However, the record temperature, of 40 degrees recorded back in
1950, has not been beaten. The hottest towns today were Zagreb,
Knin, Makarska, and Karlovac, where the temperature hit 38 degrees.
These four towns have been the hottest in Croatia this summer.
An analysis for July has shown the average temperatures were higher
than average ones in the last 30 years.
Average temperatures increased considerably in the northern and
southern Adriatic, and on islands along the central Dalmatian
coast. The eastern region of Slavonia, on the other hand, recorded
temperatures below average.
