The buying stalled, and the contracted drifted sideways for the rest of the day. Near the close, March managed to pierce the high and climb one tick higher. "It seems to be trapped by a couple of things: there is good pricing from unchanged and below, people are just jobbing the market back and forth," a broker said. Prices could drift towards the recent lows in the near term, market sources said, pegging support at a gap in the charts between 10.50 and 10.48 basis the March contract. Trade selling is expected to accelerate around resistance seen at 10.70 in March. The contract hit a high of 10.71 Nov 19. The most-active March contract ended 0.06 firmer to 10.65, having ranged from 10.66 to 10.55. The deferred months closed 0.07 to 0.04 firmer.
