Bullish USDA weekly export sales and a strong weekly crushing pace pushed Chicago futures higher in fast trading. Traders said business was reasonable in Europe during the afternoon but not exciting. "We've had a lot of enquires, but at the end of the day there has not been much tonnage traded," said a trader. Data released by the Malaysian Palm Oil Registration and Licensing Authority (PORLA) had little impact. Traders said the figures were boardly in line with market expectations and were viewed as neutral. PORLA put October palm oil output at 883,579 tonnes against 864,730 tonnes in September. End-October stocks were 953,241 tonnes against 894,438 tonnes, while exports were 727,629 tonnes against 649,688 tonnes in September. At the close of business crude palm oil cif Europe was unchanged to $5 up after Nov traded at $567.50 and Dec at $547.50, $550 and $552.50 a tonne cif. Refined palm oil finished unchanged to $2.50 up with no further business reported. Lauric oils trade was slow with coconut oil ending $5 up to $5 down after Dec/Jan traded at $770 and $675.50 and Jan/Feb at $722.50 a tonne cif. Palmkernel oil was $5 down to unchanged after Dec/Jan fetched $722.50 a tonne. In soft oils soy ended 0.50 to one guilder up after Feb/Apr traded at 90 and May/Jul at 91.50 a 100 kilos fob ex-mill. Rape oil finished 0.75 guilders up after Dec traded at 93 and Feb/Apr at 95. Based on sellers' prices, the rape oil premium over soy was 4.25 to 5.50 guilders against four to five on Thursday.
