Malaysian prices rose on news that Indonesia will continue to import crude palm oil to ensure sufficient supplies head of Christmas and the Moslem fasting month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. European traders were still awaiting confirmation of the result of a tender by Pakistan at the close of business. "We hear Pakistan has bought for last half November shipment but this has not been confirmed," said a trader. Pakistan was tendering for 4,500 tonnes each of RBD palm oil for first-half November and last-half November shipment. Crude palm oil closed in Europe $2.50 down a tonne cif with no further business reported during the afternoon. Among refined palm oils RBD oil closed $2.50 down while olein was $2.50 up. Lauric oils closed mixed with coconut oil $5 up to $2.50 down after Dec/Jan traded at $720 a tonne cif. Palmkernel oil was also mixed at $5 up to $2.50 down. Trading in soft oils was light with soy oil fetching 91 guilders for Feb/Apr while 91 guilders was paid for Dec rape oil and 94.50 for Feb/Apr. Closing soy oil sellers were 0.25 guilders down while rape oil was 0.25 to 0.75 guilders lower. The premium for rape oil over soy oil ranged from 2.75 guilders to three guilders.
