Activity accelerated when the most-active November contract fell below support at 72.60, the recent low made September 10. Trade scale down buying was not strong enough to hold the market above support. "I think we will retest and take out previous lows," a dealer said. "The charts look ugly." The fundamental outlook is also negative for prices, market sources said, pointing to growing U.S. and world supplies, and weak domestic and export demand. The U.S. Department of Agriculture put new sales at 90,500 bales for the week ended October 10. Several analysts pegged support in the 60.00-cent a lb range basis the December contract. "There is not enough business to keep us out," the dealer said. December ended down 1.13 at 71.65, having ranged from 72.60 to 71.50. The back months closed flat to to 1.22 lower.
