Malaysian private forecaster Ivan Wong's latest palm oil output and stocks estimate had little impact on the market. Wong estimated local palmoil output during September at 843,000 tonnes, four percent up from August and against his previous estimate of a six-percent rise. He put palm oil stocks at 905,000 tonnes against offical figures of 800,893 tonnes at end-August. Exports were put at 645,000 tonnes against 638,601 tonnes in August. European traders viewed the report as neutral to friendly, but by the close crude palm oil sellers were only slightly higher at $2.50 up while refined palm oil was $2.50 down to $5.00 up. Traders reported no further business during the afternoon. "The market is looking for some real news to get it moving again, but doesn't seem to have any in sight yet," said one trader. Lauric oils closed lower with coconut and palmkernel oil $5.00 down to unchanged in tradeless markets.
