"Sellers appeared to be a bit keener after Chicago came in lower, but at the end of the day volume was low," said a trader. Traders said palm oil lacked fresh news, although players in the Far East were talking in terms of further tenders from India. "We may see more tenders from India, but it won't be in the market much longer as its own oilseed harvest starts soon and that is looking very good this year," said a trader. At the close in Europe crude palm oil cif was offered $5 to $2.50 down after Apr/Jun traded at $520 during a the afternoon. Refined palm oil closed with RBD oil $12.50 down and olein $10 to $15 lower. Among lauric oils coconut oil was unchanged to $2.50 while palmkernel oil was $2.50 lower across the board. No outright business was reported among soft oils, although May/Jul traded in a switch with Feb/Apr with a 2.50 guilders difference, but traders were unable to give further details.
