European traders reported during Tuesday afternoon that India's State Trading Corporation (STC) had bought 12,000 tonnes of palm olein. They said the STC bought 6,000 tonnes of olein for shipment between September 25 and October 10, and a further 6,000 tonnes for first half October shipment at $603.50 a tonne c and f. Earlier, Pakistan's state-run Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) bought 9,000 tonnes of palm oil. Traders in Karachi reported that the TCP had bought one parcel of RBD palm oil from Pan Century at $559.40 a tonne and 3,000 tonnes of olein from Felda at $595 a tonne. Both purchases were c and f Karachi for October 10 delivery. At the close crude palm oil cif Europe closed $5 down to unchanged after Aug traded at $555 a tonne cif. Refined palm oil sellers were unchanged from midday at the close with RBD palm oil $2.50 up and olein $5 higher to unchanged. Coconut oil fell during a wave of dealer trading with close sellers $10 to $17.50 down after Aug/Sep traded at $745, $742.50 and $740, Sep/Oct at $730 and Oct/Nov at $725 a tonne cif. Palmkernel oil was $5 to $7.50 lower in a neglected market. Among soft oils soy oil was 0.50 to one guilder up at the close in a tradeless market, while rape oil finished with similar gains after Sep traded at 92.75 guilders a 100 kilos fob ex-mill.
