India's State Trading Corporation bought one parcel of olein at $563 a tonne c and f for shipment between September 5-20, European traders said. Earlier, palm oil prices in Europe rose following a surge in Asian prices on speculative covering ahead of Thursday's release of the Malaysian Palm Oil Registration and Licensing Authorities (PORLA) July output, stocks and export data which some traders expect to be supportive. Malaysian private forecaster Ivan Wong issued his last report for July on Wednesday. Wong put local palm oil output at 739,000 tonnes, 2.4 percent up from June, against his previous forecast of a 2.8 percent rise. Wong estimated palm oil stocks at 630,000 tonnes in July against 569,727 tonnes in June. Exports for last month were estimated at 630,000 tonnes against 569,727 tonnes. However, European traders said if the Wong figure is correct Malaysian production is still well above 1995 output which during July was running at 677,000 tonnes. "The market is firm at the moment, but Malaysia is going to have to export a lot of palm oil to get supply and demand back into balance," said a trader. At the close in Europe crude palm oil was $10 to $7.50 up after Aug traded at $505 and Sep at $505, $507.50 and $510. Products closed $10 to $12.50 up.
