Light trade buying helped to buoy prices early in the session. But disappointment over the market's failure to build on Thursday's strong rally prompted commission houses and locals to exit long positions ahead of the close, traders said. "Technically, the market was looking extremely good after yesterday, and then when it didn't do anything today, the locals liquidated. March futures eased 0.02 cent a lb to 12.29 cents, after trading over a narrow band from 12.26 to 12.35 cents. Second-position May eased 0.04 to 12.05, while the back months ended between 0.01 and 0.04 lower. March rose 0.15 cent on the week, with most of the gains occurring during Thursday's fund-driven buying spree.
