In what was mainly an "inside day," with the March contract fluctuating within the prior day's trading range, most dealings centered on the nearby switch. Speculators continued to roll long positions from the spot October contract into March and the more distant months, while the trade took the opposite stance, buying the nearby position and selling the deferreds. October, which goes off the boards on the last day of this month, rose 0.02 cent a lb, to close at 11.31 cents, after ranging from 11.25 to 11.33. Most-active March eased 0.01, to 11.80, posting trades from 11.77 to 11.83. Volume was estimated at 19,464 lots.
