Commission houses were noted buyers, and the trade a scale-up seller of October contracts. The tone remained dull overall, market sources said, amid a lack of fundamental news or physical offtake. The benchmark July contract closed 0.05 cent firmer at 11.16 cents per lb, having ranged from 11.17 to 11.04 cents. The rest of the board settled 0.03 to 0.06 higher. Resistance remained at the recent high of 11.21 cents for July delivery, with support pegged at 10.85 cents. Open interest in July stood at 74,845 lots, as of early Friday, up 190 lots from the previous session. Volume was thin at an estimated 11,872 lots, as players extended a long Memorial Day weekend.
