They said July is poised to challenge the key 11.20 cents based on today's close above 11.11 cents. But solid producer selling around current levels could prove too great a hurdle to overcome, they added. Cargill was cited as a buyer of July contracts, while trade buying was noted in the July/October and October/March spreads. Light producer selling at the highs blocked further gains, dealers said. July closed at 11.15 cents per lb, up 0.10 cents, having ranged from 11.17 to 11.07 cents. The outer months finished 0.08 and 0.06 cent firmer. Volume was estimated at 22,717 lots compared with Tuesday's official 11,207 lots. Industry sources will attend tonight's U.S. Cane Sugar Refiners' Association dinner in New York.
