ZAGREB, Aug 5 (Hina) - Amnesty International (AI) on Wednesday
responded to a Croatian Interior Ministry statement issued
yesterday in relation to crimes committed after the Storm
liberation action in 1995.
AI said in a statement it did not want generalised statements but
specific information on specific cases.
Statistics and unclear statements given by the Croatian Interior
Ministry are according to the AI statements without meaning which
are unacceptable as a response from Croatian authorities.
What we want is specific information on the specific cases we
mentioned, the AI said.
Yesterday, the AI issued a statement on the occasion of the third
anniversary of the Storm operation, claiming that hundreds of not-
investigated and unpunished crimes had been committed in the
liberated areas.
Today the AI claimed the Croatian Interior Ministry's response to
AI's statement rejected AI's statistics and report.
The AI seeks that Croatia issue a clear report on issues of alleged
crimes committed in the wake of Storm.
