ČRoyals 5, Astros 2= At Baseball City, Florida, Felix Jose had two hits and two RBI to propel Kansas City. David Cone started for the Royals and got the win, allowing two runs over six innings. ČAngels 8, Athletics (ss) 3= At Tempe, Arizona, Chuck Finley pitched a three-hitter over six shutout innings to lead California. Finley picked up the win for the Angels as he walked one and struck out five. Luis Polonia and John Orton each had two hits for California, and J.T. Snow drove in two runs.
