BUTCHER PRIJAVLJEN POLICIJI

Obrana Butchera da on "komunikaciju" s navijačima smatra dijelom spektakla i svoje zabave teško je prihvatitida izaSRTR0833 3 SPO 199 BC-SPORT-BUTCHER-(SOCCER) :BC-SPORT-BUTCHER (SOCCER) Butcher to be reported by police to F.A. LONDON, Jan 25, Reuter - Former England defender Terry Butcher is to be reported by police to the Football Association for allegedly inciting fans when his club Sunderland lost an F.A. Cup match on Sunday. The incident followed Sunderland conceding a last-gasp goal by Mark Bright which inflicted a 1-0 fourth round defeat at Sheffield Wednesday. Moments after the goal, Butcher ran to the 7,000 Sunderland supporters and conducted their chants before launching into air-punching theatricals. That inspired several fans to battle past stewards onto the pitch from the end of the Hillsborough ground where Liverpool fans were crushed at the F.A. Cup semifinal tragedy of 1989 in which 95 people died. Sheffield Wednesday manager Trevor Francis has asked his club's safety officer to speak to local police and urge them to reconsider their decision. Francis said: žžTerry Butcher is one of football's greatest ambassadors and what he did was no more than a ritual. žžIncitement was the last thing on his mind and I honestly think that with his great record he is entitled to have a quiet word spoken to him by the police instead of a formal report to the FA.''
