Zagreb has been observing this annual awareness raising campaign on sustainable urban mobility since 2002, under the organisation of the European Union.
As part of the event, Zagreb is competing for the fifth consecutive year for the Mobility Award, which is given to cities with the best organised seven-day campaign. In the last four years, Zagreb made the top ten among more than 2,000 cities.
The campaign begins on International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, which is observed on September 16, and ends on World Carfree Day, observed on September 22.
