The building of the boat was agreed in February 2011 by the Zagreb Institute for Marine Research and Special Technologies and the British company City Cruises PLC. Among the bidders were British and Western European designers and shipyards.
The client will take over the boat in late June and it will be christened in London before the Olympics.
The boat is 37 metres long, 14.6 metres wide and 7.6 metres tall. It was designed and built according to regulations of the Bureau Veritas conformity assessment company.
Zagreb Institute director Vladimir Koroman said the fact that the boat was built in Croatia, in times difficult for the national shipbuilding industry, proved that Croatia's shipbuilding was competitive and economically sustainable.
