The two officials said cooperation with the Directorate General for Health and Consumer Affairs was very good, voicing hope that it would remain so in order to achieve progress in the "Consumer and Health Protection" policy chapter, the Delegation said in a press release.
Vandoren praised the working relationship between the Croatian National Institute of Public Health and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
He also welcomed the establishment of specialised departments within the Health Ministry.
In that respect, the EC offers Croatia full support in its efforts to effectively solve issues relevant for the strengthening of the ministry's administrative capacity, notably through the IPA and TAIEX programmes, said Vandoren.
The ministry and the Delegation will continue to closely cooperate, it was said.
