Impossibile Egressus to take over Radio 101

ZAGREB, Feb 2 (Hina) - The committee of creditors of Radio 101 on Thursday accepted the offer of the Impossibile Egressus company to inject HRK 6.1 million into the Zagreb-based radio station, trustee in bankruptcy Maroje Stjepovic told reporters.

The privately-owned Impossibile Egressus company was the only bidder in the fourth round of invitation of bids for the purchase of the Croatian radio station which has been in official receivership for some time, and creditors gave their consent to this bid in order that they be able to collect at least part of their claims.

Those 6.1 million kuna will be used to cover obligations from the bankruptcy estate: salaries of workers, court expenses and partial claims of current and former employees and claims of the Croatian Pension Insurance Bureau regarding pension contributions. Other claims of the workers, the state and suppliers will be written off.

Impossibile Egressus, a Zagreb-headquartered company, is owned by German Thomas Alexander Thimme who lives in Berlin and reportedly owns one radio station in the German capital.

Stjepovic said that now a bankruptcy plan should be drawn up enabling Impossibile Egressus to become the 100-percent owner of Radio 101. The transfer of the radio station to the new owner should be finalised by the summer.

The radio station continues to operate normally as it has a concession until 2012, according to Stjepovic.
