BRIJUNI, Nov 26 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman held an
annual meeting with diplomats accredited in Croatia on the island of
Brijuni in the northern Adriatic on Friday. The meeting was also
attended by Foreign Minister Mate Granic, Defence Minister Gojko Susak,
Head of the Presidential Office Jure Radic and Vice Chairman of
Parliament Zarko Domljan.
The diplomats picked the first tangerines in the Brijuni plantations,
which will be sent to the unprovided-for children of fallen Croatian
defenders as well as to wounded defenders.
"From this year on, tangerine picking on Brijuni will become a
tradition, and pickers will be members of the diplomatic corps in
Croatia," said the Croatian President at today's reception.
In the evening the President and his wife are arranging a formal
dinner.
Tomorrow's schedule includes a visit to places of historic interest in
Istria and a meeting with head of the Istrian County Luciano Delbianco.
