ZADAR AREA CALM ON TUESDAY MORNING

ZADAR, Nov 16 (Hina) - The Zadar war zone was calm on Tuesday morning. The latest Serb attacks were recorded at 21:00 hours on Monday, as they opened anti-aircraft cannon fire on Tinj, said a report by the Croatian Army command in Zadar on Tuesday morning, adding that the heaviest attacks took place in the afternoon. Serb irregular troops attempted to advance on Kasic, a village in the Zadar hinterland, at 14:30 hours, but were repelled. At 18:00 hours, Croatian defence forces prevented a Serb commando group from entering the village of Paljuv. Novigrad was hit by a dozen artillery shells yesterday. The town was also targeted between 19:00 and 20:00 hours, when some 20 shells struck the area. At the same time Serb artillery pounded Zemunik Donji, Islam Grcki and Paljuv. Suhovare and Pristeg came under anti-aircraft cannon fire. No casualties were reported on the Croatian side. The Sibenik area was calm overnight. In the Sinj area Serb forces fired a dozen shells on Mirlovic Polje at 22:30 hours. The Croatian Army command in Zadar lodged a protest with UNPROFOR over the attacks. 161218 MET nov 93
